Glad you're home did you bring me anything?

I'm having trouble believing we've been back from our trip almost a week already. I have yet to put my travel story together but I have had some time to look through the photos and unpack everything.

This is good news for some of you because I BROUGHT PRESENTS!!!

For Beads, a chocolate fountain from Brussells, Belgium

For Angel a little dragon made from coloured crystal from the Swarovski Crystal gallery in Innsbruck, Austria...
LiVEwIre - I'm sorry dear but I couldn't help thinking of you when I saw these - Cuckoo Clocks. They're everywhere, hundreds of them! LOL!

Anne, since you missed taking one of these yourself, here's a front view of the Chateau at Fontainebleau:

Unfortunately we didn't go far enough South to get to Tuscany, Spookie but here's one from northern Italy:

You should go sometime - it's really pretty!

Of course I couldn't go all that way and not bring something back for my favourite cousin, so Delboy I thought you might appreciate a pint or two...

That was taken in Berchtesgaden in Germany.

Jason I looked for an interesting headstone for you but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in cemetaries. Instead, this monument from Sainte Mere Eglise in Normandy is in memory of those who died liberating the town in the D-Day landings.
When I write my 'memoirs' of the trip I'll talk more about it. The place moved me more than you can imagine.

Kyknoord, this is the view from the top of the mountain:
...A mountain in the Alps, that is - the one where the Eagles Nest is perched.

And for you, Buddess, an old friend says hello from a beerfest in Austria:

And I think that's about as much as one blog post can handle.

Tart - Thanks m'dear!

Delboy - Willpower Cuz, willpower (this from the woman whose idea of a diet includes chips with her salad and half a bottle of mayonnaise hehe!)

Kyknoord - Buddy, you can see everyone's house from up there!

Buddess - Miss u too Babes :)

Anne - {bites tongue}

Beads - If I'd known then what I know now I would've looked for teensy chocolate booties ;)

Spookie - May I suggest you learn a little Italian before you go? We were 100% stumped when it came to reading the menus!

Jeff - Glad u like 'em Jeff. I was gonna get you one of the Concorde as we rode past but it gets a little shaky on the back of a bike at 100mph!

Ben - I always said "Chopped Liver" would be the title of my autobiography if I ever got round to writing it. No sweetie but you like so many things and I think travelling in general so they're all for you ... However if u want something specific, let me know & I'll see what I can do :)

{sigh} Ya just can't please everyone, can ya?!

Wonderful pictures, love the mountain top one and being Linda's twin you know I love the chocolate one too, and the Swarovski cyrstal dragon I know how much the Swarovski cyrstal beads are so he has to cost alot if someone were to buy him.

Bwahahahaha! The connection between me and cuckoos is, well, rather apparent I should say! =) Although I'm hoping Delboy will share some of his haul with me if I offer to trade some of my 'cuckoos' - I've got plenty to share! As always, great photos. Makes me want to back to Europe and visit. I may start with that chocolate fountain!

Lori - I kinda sorta had a feeling u might want some of that fountain hehe! And you probably don't wanna know the price tag on the dragon. He was locked in a display case with the price tag face down so we'll draw our conclusions from that.

Ben O - Thanks buddy. I'll see what I can do...

Livewire - Good luck beating off the terrible twins to the chocolate. I'd guess you'd have more luck getting Del to share his hoard - less chance of bodily harm and all that ;)
