Bad Carma

We were visited by what was left of Hurricane Gordon last night.

Holy moly!

Now I grew up in Port Elizabeth which is known in South Africa as "The Windy City" but I have to say I haven't often seen wind like we had last night in Dublin. Hubby, Cinderella and myself sat inside our new home like the three little pigs while a ginormous Big Bad Wolf did his best to huff and puff and blow our house down. Luckily he failed. The power went out a couple of times but we came through pretty much unscathed.

So this morning I decided to not even think about attempting to come into work by road. I got Hubby to drop me at the railway station and caught the train in instead. The trip was uneventful and when I got to my desk I rang Hubby on his celphone to find out how far along in the traffic he was.
Well blow me down if he wasn't just getting to his office!

So let me get this straight: The storm of storms crashed through here last night, trees were blown down, power was out, lakes sprang up all over the roads... and yet the traffic was fine. I can only surmise that it's my presence in the car that causes the traffic to back up so badly every time I get a lift to work with Hubby.
We'll chalk it up to bad karma and leave it at that, shall we?

The train is my friend
The train is my friend
The train is my friend

Maybe Karma just want the two of you to spend more time together?

Seems Gordon did not read the tale of the three little pigs.
Glad you came through unscathed. Too bad you still had to go to work.

But the train is your friend - it's me it hates, remember?

Kyknoord - Strange, that's what Hubby says.

Chitty - Couldn't agree more.

Anne - LOL! Oh right, I forgot :-D

Bad bad Gordon I seen on the weather the other night or was it last night I can't remember anyways...Where Gordon may effect you. All I know I did not want him around here but did he have to come and bug you and make you ride the friendly train. I heard trains can be your friend. LMAO!!
Have a great Friday!!!!

Yeah, that was quite a storm. When I woke up this morning, the potted tree, which is in a heavy terracotta pot that has to weigh at least 3 stone, was in the middle of the garden. Plus, all sorts of debris was in the yard including the top bit of the chimney of the neighbour's boilerhouse.

Yowsers. The worst bit for us was we had to sleep with the windows closed (because the wind would just blow them shut, setting off the house alarm) and the room was absolutely stifling.

It's kind of scary sometimes when public transportation seems the better of two options! Glad you made it through ok.

Beads - Aren't I nice inviting Gordon here so he didn't visit you this year? ;-)

-Ann -I can well believe that. And then of course there was the chorus of house alarms going off all night. But all in all I reckon we got off quite lightly with this one.

LiVEwiRe - {sniff} Public transport has to be my friend. The car we bought that is mine but that Hubby has being 'borrowing' up till now is about to be traded in on a station-wagon. So any illusions I had about having my own wheels are about to be shattered.
{sniff}

Angel - hehe You love the traffic as much as I do, don't you?!
