Happy New Year!!!

What an original title for this post.
I intended writing something yesterday - you know, since it was actually New Year's Day and all. Unfortunately I was dying so I didn't have time. I'd forgotten how nasty champagne can be the day after. My head is still not quite 100% right - haha, very funny. You finished with the wisecracks yet?
Thanks.

So now it's all done - Christmas with all its trimmings, New Year's Day with all its hangovers, and all the Silly Season Festivities before and in between.
Did you all have fun?
Good. 'Cos next Christmas is closer than you think and then you get to do it all again.

Despite the copious amounts of champagne consumed, for some reason it doesn't yet feel like a new year. In fact, it feels pretty much the same as the old one. You know - cold, grey, and OMG I'm gonna be late for work!!!!

Some things just never change.

ah, a champagne hangover. i remember those.

we both had to work on new year's eve--that means up at 5:30, work hard all day. by 11 p.m. we were exhausted and went to bed. missed our annual walk-around-the-lake-at-midnight tradition.

it was awfully cold, though, so i'm not entirely sorry.
happy new year to you, too.

Laurie - I had to work New Year's Eve, also, although I was home by a much more civilised 7pm. And then came the champagne...!

Anne - Seeing you in Blogland was the first pleasant surprise. Seeing you in NY will be less of a surprise but even more pleasant :-)

Jason - Happy New Year and also Happy Birthday!

Angel - Don't laugh so loud, my head still hurts, lol!

Rose - I found you! And yep, fading away does seem to be the thing to do here although some of us insist on clinging to this thing for dear life...
