A touch of frost

Let's talk about the weather for a change.

That's a joke - anyone who has spent any amount of time in Ireland will know this; talking about the weather is something of a national pastime here. Well, perhaps not so much talking as moaning about it. It's either too cold, too wet, or occasionally (once every 7 years or so) too hot.
Although it should be noted that I, personally, have never complained about this place being too hot.

But it's winter now, and last Saturday Hubby and I went out around midday to do some shopping. 30 Metres down the road I made him turn back so I could get my camera. You just don't see frost and fog like this in South Africa.

So these are for you folks who are complaining about the heat back home...

The first clue: Frozen flowers outside my front door

The not-so-green grass of home

Some of you may recognize Malahide Castle

Ducks getting themselves in a row... I'm guessing they've figured out the time has come to head South!

A cold and lonely crow

I didn't get any photos of the fog around our place; there wouldn't have been much to see in a photo except white noise, after all. But here is the midday sun:

So, which hemisphere would you rather be in right now...?

Come HOME. Come HOME immediately. Do not pass GO. Do not collect 200 Billion Zim Dollars. Great photos T, but they make me cold just thinking of them. I am not going to mention what the temperature is here at the moment, but I will say that at this time of the year, the prospect of being shot in your own home here in SA is just slightly more than offset by the glorious weather.

Missing you guys.

I don't believe I have ever in my wildest nightmares imagined living in that...I will not moan about the heat, I promise - I LOVE IT!

Hey Terry, every morning while I have been sitting in my nice warm car at 7:30 a.m. and I see a bike going past I think of you and have decided that I am never going to complain about being cold again, cause I can imagine how you must feel. I guess one thing we have to be thankful for is it may be cold but at least it is not wet, now we won't talk about the black ice etc.

I especially like the shot of the crow!

Just looking at your pics gives me goose-bumps and shivers up my spine. It was much like an Irish Summer here today - grey and drizzling all day, but it wasn't cold. Good pics!

Synaptoman - OK. I'll see you on the 20th?

BazL - And I don't believe I will ever complain about heat again, EVER!

Rose - I must confess I have been going to work by train for the last week. Not only is it painfully cold out there but as you say, with all the ice around it's just not fun at the moment :-(

Jason - That's my favourite too. And I didn't even get out of the car to take it.

Anon - I got goose-bumps & shivers too, trust me ;-)

Angel - I used to be a Winter person when I lived in SA. Trust me, anything over a year in this place and you'll be crying for the heat you used to curse.

Hemisphere? Southern. But I absolutely adore your crow. They are one of my new faves.
