Our little village was abuzz with family outings today, and the smell of home-cooked meals is wafting in on the chilly breeze through the open windows.
I wasn't going to post anything for Father's Day, but I've been trolling through blogland and some of the nice things people have written about their own fathers have made me a little emotional, so here I am. Today we went out to lunch - me and Hubby and his daughter. Watching them together really raises mixed emotions in me. I don't remember my father well and it makes me sad, even all these years later. So while it squeezes my heart with happiness to see the special bond Hubby and Cinderella have, at the same time it hurts inside just a bit because I never got to have that with my own father because he died when I was only 7. So yes, a little emotional today.
But I think it was really nice for Hubby to have Cinderella here - it's the first Father's Day he's had with either of his kids in five years and I think he really appreciated having her here with us this year. She even went and bought him a present without any prompting from me. Boy, that girl knows how to score brownie points LOL!
Anyway, enough of the emotional babble, let's see if I can cheer this post up with a couple of snaps...

We spent Fathers Day traveling home from Cape Town. Probably not the best Fathers Day, but at least we were all together and had fun along the way. Love those pictures!! I didn't get to see my Dad and that wasn't nice.
