my busy head

I had a visitor this morning. No it wasn't the little bird - it would seem my photo stalking the other day has scared him off for now. Or perhaps it was my new visitor. There's a new cat in town.
Literally...
He came bounding up to greet me when I opened the patio door and then settled down to enjoy the brief sunshine that escaped through the gap in the clouds that have been plaguing this place for the last few days. Yep, it looks like Summer has gone on vacation again.

My head is all over the place at the moment. Hubby says I need to calm down before I fall out of myself. My erratic state of mind is no doubt due to excitement for the upcoming move. We still don't have the keys, but have been assured they'll be in our hands by the weekend. I wanted to take the day off work on Friday to move, but something has come up to blow that idea out of the water. No matter, as long as we get to move this weekend. I don't think I could wait any longer.

I have lists, and lists of lists, of things to do and stuff to buy. Kettle (most important because I can't possibly move into a house with no way of making coffee), toaster, iron, Hoover, potato peeler... That's on a different list though. There's one for "Big Stuff" and one for "Small Stuff". I have another one for "Stuff I Want Just Because" but that's not written down for fear of Hubby having a nervous breakdown at the amount of Euros he can see waving goodbye.

And when thinking about the move isn't keeping me busy enough, I switch over to thinking about our Big Biking Trip that's planned for August. I really have to come up with a good name for it. Suggestions are welcome although I'm notorious for asking people for suggestions and then not using any of them because, well, I don't know why. I just like to do things my way.
But I appreciate other peoples' input, even if I choose to not take their advice in the long run. I mean, it's good to have as much information as possible before making a decision, right? Uh, ja, I seem to have gotten off the subject here just a tad.

So, the biking trip. I have yet to sit down and mark out our route on the massive road map I bought so everything to do with it so far is very much estimated. And I still need to get a pair of proper biking boots, too... and Yes, I do really need them, it's not just an excuse to buy myself yet another pair of boots, LOL! Apart from the whole safety factor, I have a full jacket and trousers bike outfit (photo's will follow at some point, hang onto your seats) and no boots to go with it. Everything else aside, it would just look silly! You've seen the Bike - we can't have me making a fashion faux pas on a bike like that, now, can we?!

You enjoying this little trip inside my head yet? Welcome to Terriland. Please be patient - our engineers are working on the speed wobble. Some semblance of normalcy is sure to return at some stage.

Good luck with the move.

Don't worry Terri, you've proven adept at massive multi-tasking before. This'll be a doddle. Nice photo, BTW. Love the patterns on that cat.

psssssst - Terri, hey it's me. No over here. The kitty!!! I came to visit you in the form of this kitty. Pretty cool hey. I knew youd like it if I stopped over, but I never though you'd take my picture too. D'you like my pose? I am really happy to be on your blog.

LOL!! You need to slow down girl. Seriously. I wish I could come over and help you pack and all that. I know how exciting and hectic a move can be. Just stop to breathe every now and then ok? Ok.

Beads - LOL! That's just what I needed to put a smile on my face first thing in the morning :D

Jeff - I'm sure he won't mind if you borrow it ;)

Kyknoord - I have? You'll have to remind me (yes, I appear to have misplaced my memory. It must be in one of the boxes). It's a pretty cat hey?!

Spookie - Teehee! How does it go..? Oh yes: breathe in, breathe out. Got it. Thanks :)

And what is wrong with Big Biking Trip? It is the Ronseal of names, does exactly what it says on the tin. And of course can be abbr. to BBT, pronounced Bibt.

Perfick.

The Americans have Spring Break, gosh, what season are you in again??? I just fell out of myself......hahahaha You are brilliant with your words. May I be the Secretary to the Secretary of the Mayor of Terriland?

Good luck with the list making and maybe when you are finished making all the lists, there will be a dash of time to do some packing. haaha wink wink

I can identify with your lists and recommend more and more of them. That way, hubby will eventually stop reading them and you can write down what you really want! ;) I also think the kitty (gorgeous!) wants to go on your trip... you know, Terri Takes Over Europe... yeah, that one!

Fence - bibt eh? That's catchy... rolls off the tongue really well.

Lori - I emailed everyone I knew. Thanks for the warning.

Buddess - You're hired, and your first job is to fire whoever orders the weather in this place!

LiVEwIre - I'll keep going on the lists, thx for the advice. I'm not compulsive, I swear! ;) 'Terri Takes Over Europe'... kind of has a ring to it although for some reason it makes me think of Hitler and I think I'd look really silly with one of those moustaches.

It does seem like your head is being hijacked by hundreds of thoughts at once. But it also seems like the plastic cutlery they're using is just not enough to let you relinquish controls.
Should you, however, choose to let go... allow me one question: who cares about normalcy??

Anne - hijacked? Yes, that's a good way to put it.

Angel - why am I not surprised? ;)

Del - Uh, and how do you know I haven't started packing for the bike trip yet? A girl has to be prepared y'know!
