I'm supposed to be meeting up with some mates this evening for a few pints but to be honest I don't know if I'm in the mood for it.
It means leaving work at 4:15 (or so) to catch the train to be home by 5:20 (or so), which leaves me some time to make myself presentable* and have something to eat** before catching the 7:23pm train back into town to meet up with me mates around 8:15.
Sounds like an awful lot of effort for a pint, don't you think?
How they get 'partly sunny' when it's still dark out, I'm not sure, but you get the idea, and I don't imagine it'll be any warmer this evening.
Have I made enough excuses yet?
Can't I just rather go home as soon as I can possibly escape the office and go hide in my cocoon away from the cold and the noise and the big bad world?
Please?

** I may even feed the husband and child while I'm at it.

Sounds like plenty of excuses to me! :)
Here is what you do. You get a George Clooney movie or movies or find a marathon of E.R. when he was on. Curl up in the chair with a big bowl of popcorn, drink, and some chocolate.
I like that one he played in with Katherine Zeta Jones...what is it's name?? Let me think a second.......Intolerable Cruelty.
Stay warm and have a great day!!
Permission granted. Tell 'em I said so.
Evening cancelled due to lack of interest. It can be so hard to stay pumped all the time in this darn dreary northern hemisphere winter. Or is that just another feeble excuse. Move over, I'm crawling in under the duvet with you - I'll bring some movies too! xox
It does sound like quite an effort simply for a drink or two. Wouldn't you rather curl up in a nice warm chair with a good book? :)
Beads - I don't think I've seen that one. Hm. Note to self ;-)
Kyknoord - Well that settles it then, thanks :)
Dawn - Bring some OB's along and you have a date!
Jason - It is.
Jeff - I most certainly would.
And fyi I did! Curl up in a warm chair that is, although reading seemed like too much effort so I opted for the movie instead. Much better plan.
heh heh- i had to giggle at the
"partly sunny" prediction- down here in sunny south africa we use the label "partly cloudy". are you guys just trying to be positive?
