monday blues

I've been trying to write up a nice post for you guys, telling you all about the fun weekend Hubby and I had in London. It really was great - we stayed with my Li'l Sister and on Saturday the 3 of us went to watch the rugby-match-that-will-not-be-discussed and have a BBQ with my cousin at the pub he's been running for the last few years, followed by his farewell party.
He's moving to Oz, you see. We really had a good time (Thanks Cuz!) and it was well worth the hangover yesterday.

Trouble is it's hard to tell you good things about a great weekend when my mood is as irritable as what it is. Aaargh!!! Being nice - or even civil - to people is incredibly difficult when all I want to do is snap at them for simply breathing. Yep, it's one of those days when I should be sent home as unfit for human interaction.
Thing is, I should be happy... after all, this time next week we'll be on holiday in South Africa. And in truth, I am very excited and can barely contain myself about that. Who knew excitement and irritation could co-exist to such degrees?!

Because I don't wanna figure out why there is a problem with [process A]. I don't wanna have to solve the problem of poor performance on [server X]...

Update...
... and I've just noticed that some clever formatting I put in earlier caused only half my post to be published. I believe the GRRR factor has just grown exponentially!
d'ya think "I need to blog" is a valid excuse for not working any more today???!

I'm sure you can't wait to stand on the old ground.

Ben - Yep. They're off to the US for a holiday first though. Lucky boy!

Jason - I'm fairly sure that's contributing to my irritability. I don't wait well.

well, even crabby you're entertaining.

and if "i need to blog" were a valid excuse to call in and not go to work, my work record would be very very very bad.

I need to blog is the most valid excuse there is for not working more!! :)
I am sooo excited for you on your upcoming trip.

Having a foot-stomping cranky fit is fine now and then. When you have the anticipation of such a grand trip ahead of you, everything is bound to get on your nerves! I'm so excited for you!

I'm pleased I popped in today - bad mood or not ... or I might have missed you flitting around the continents you fancy globe trotter you! I'm blatantly jealous - I have such a strong urge to visit home ... and if you come back and tell me you met with some of the blogging sisters - well, I might just find myself as pissed off as you are/were today/yesterday (by the time you read this.) So cous' Del is heading for the sun ... clever man. Please pop in before you flit off - come and get a piece of me to take to the mother land. I am sure you will relate to the post 'REFLECTING' or what ever it was I called it. All lekkers to you, China! xox

Howzit Cherrie!! I know, I know I've been scarse - you can whack me with a rool of newspaper or something. My internet tme is really limited and I don't get to visit as much as I used to. I cannot believe that rugby match - I blame it all on ONE little twirp who threw the whole momentum off with his stoopid fummbling...(fume)

I cannot believe you are coming to SA at last for a holiday. Thats awesome. I would be excited to - hectically excited.

Oh, here's a silly South African joke for you:

What do you call a tick on a gate?
Hectic....

Hope you are feeling less irritable and more excited today.

Bye!

Um, that's a ROLL of newspaper, ok...

It's a good excuse every day. Just not sure whether the boss will buy it, though.

If it works for you, it is valid.
It is kinda hard to do work when you are about to go on holiday. Pack warmly... it is cold down here.

Laurie - Sometimes the crabbier I get, the more entertaining I get. In hindsight.

Beads - Well then that settles it :-)

LiVEwIRe - And what exactly would you know about foot-stomping cranky fits? mwahahahahaha! (I crack myself up LOL!)

Angel - No need to duck... I can't throw for sh*t ;-) I'll be over shortly.

Dawn - Howzit, luvvie! Sounds like you need a visit home too sometime. Hey wait, didn't you just get back from a cruise? Hmf, No sympathy. Not a jot.

Brigitte - LOL! Hectic, hehehe! I almost spat my coffee out as I read that :-) Looks like you deserve a bit of a catch-up visit from me too. You've redecorated!

Kyknoord - Probably not. I'm beginning to not care though.

Chitty - Ja I see so. I was kinda hoping for the 23-degree SA winter, not the snowy kind if at all possible. Come on guys, organise, willya?!

Hope the hangover was worth it! Thanks for coming over to say good-bye; can't wait to see you guys next year!

I didn't have a hangover on Sunday. Probably something to do with that porcelain bus I was driving...

Sorry to do this to you Dawn, but I will most f*&^(*&g definately get to see Terri on her visit home. I have been waiting for so long and I can't believe that it is almost time. A girl needs to get to hug her friends every now and then and the oceans have been keeping us apart for way too long now. So, hurry up T. I am keeping the OB's ready!!!!
